Shell says it will stop buying oil from Russia.

British oil giant Shell announces it will fully withdraw from the purchase of oil from Russia.

Shell has also apologized for buying a shipment of Russian oil over the past week.

“We are fully aware that our decision last week to buy a shipment of Russian oil was not the right one”. “We are sorry” said Shell chief executive Ben van Beurden.

In the coming weeks we will take the profit made from the remaining Russian Oil and directly donate it to humanitarian agencies to help the people of Ukraine.

The company said it would immediately stop all purchases of Russian oil and close its service stations and operations in Russia.

While the withdrawal from Russian oil products, such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be carried out “in several stages”.
