President Biden and Chancellor Scholz Discuss Support for Ukraine

Once more, President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) chatted over the telephone. The White House later reported that the talk included backing for Ukraine, which Russia had invaded. Scholz and Biden agreed that this help must be “effective, durable, and well-coordinated,” according to Steffen Hebestreit, a spokesperson for the German government. Neither side offered any specifics. Nevertheless, during a phone conversation last week, the President of the United States and the Chancellor decided to provide armored vehicles to Ukraine. On Friday, more deliveries, including tanks, will be discussed at the US Air Force facility Ramstein in Rhineland-Palatinate.
