Twitter closes profiles of users who supported Putin.

Twitter has banned more than 100 accounts that have repeatedly used the hashtag #IStandWithPutin (“I support Putin”), which appeared on the platform earlier this week amid Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

A Twitter spokesman said that the company was still investigating people behind profiles and that their accounts were banned for participating in “unauthorized coordinated behavior” and violating “platform and spam manipulation policies.” of Twitter.

The profiles that posted the most #IStandWithPutin had only a few dozen followers and had profile pictures on the platform, which shows that they may be inauthentic.

Major tech platforms and social media companies, including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Reddit, have restricted the access of Russian state media on their platforms and demonized the content of such publishers since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a military operatio in Ukraine.

In response to the restrictions, Russia has blocked access to Facebook and Twitter.
