Fans have slammed Piers Morgan’s suggestion that France’s players were deliberately poisoned before their defeat to Argentina in the Qatar 2022 World Cup final.
The Albiceleste won against Les Bleus after the execution of penalties, after regular time (2-2) and extra time (3-3) had ended with an equal score.
When the score was 2-0 to the detriment of France, Morgan – who is known as a fan and friend of Cristiano Ronaldo – had made a statement on Twitter.
“It wasn’t a virus, the French team was deliberately poisoned,” wrote the well-known English journalist and moderator, referring to the poor performance of France’s players in that period of the game.
The users of social networks have reacted by calling his statement shameful, which they have connected with the open desire for Messi not to win the World Cup, because of his relationship with Ronaldo.
Many of the fans have published pictures of CR7 crying while teasing Morgan: “This is what typical Ronaldo fans think, illusion”.
However, the moderator did not stop there, even after Messi’s triumph in the World Cup, he wrote: “Yes, I agree that this settles the debate once and for all… Cristiano Ronaldo is the best of all time.”
