Philadelphia curfew for kids and teens

Curfew

Philadelphia curfew for kids and teens.

Due to the increasing violence on the streets of Philadelphia, USA, children and teenagers from 16 to 17 years old, from Thursday, July 14, will be under curfew, the local authorities have announced.

They will be able to be on the streets until 10:00 p.m., which is two hours longer compared to the same period last year, when a summer curfew was imposed.

For children aged 14-15, this curfew is already in effect from 10:00 p.m., while the youngest, i.e. from 13 years old, must be at home at 9:30 p.m. This curfew expires at 6 am.

The new curfew, which also varies the ages it affects, has been proposed by Kathryn Gillmore Richardson as responsible for order and peace in this city.

It can be seen that there has been a significant increase in street violence by young people, as a result of which 22 of them lost their lives and 106 were injured with firearms, a curfew has been proposed.

“We are seeing our young people involved in incidents and criminal acts, just going out late at night,” Gillmore Richardson added.

The curfew for minors will not apply to those who have a reason and must be on the road, such as visiting elderly relatives they care for.
