The Ukrainian goat ‘injured’ 40 Russian soldiers.

A Ukrainian goat has been described as a national hero after it activated a string of Russian grenades around a hospital in Zaporizhia, injuring at least 40 Russian soldiers.

Russian forces were laying a wire and planting grenades around the edge of a local hospital in the village of Kinski Rozdory, installing the trap as a “circular guard,” according to Ukraine’s top intelligence directors.

The goat, which had escaped from a farm, was reportedly headed straight into the trap as Russian ammunition exploded in a chain reaction, injuring dozens of soldiers waiting in ambush.

Ukraine’s defense intelligence said:

“As a result of the ‘chaotic’ movements of the goat, the animal ‘destroyed’ some grenades. “As a result of a chain reaction, some [Russians] suffered injuries of varying degrees of severity.”

At least 40 Russian soldiers are thought to have been injured. The condition of the animal is currently unknown.

The goat has since been hailed as the “Kiev Goat”, a reference to the mythical pilot, the “Ghost of Kiev”, who is estimated to have shot down up to 40 enemy planes during the Russian occupation of the capital.
