Russia has taken 2000 Chernobyl guards hostage

Chernobyl

Russia has seized the clothes of 2000 Chernobyl guards.

Russian troops yesterday withdrew from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in northern Ukraine.

However, the mayor of the nearby town of Slavutych claims that about 2,000 members of the Ukrainian National Guard are likely to have been captured by Moscow.

These missing people were trapped inside the missing power plant when it was captured by Russia on February 24th.

Yuri Fomichev said he considered them “prisoners of war”, adding that they had not been heard from since Thursday.

However, Fomichev said it was unclear whether Russian troops had left the entire Chernobyl exclusion zone or just the area around the plant.

“The whole Chernobyl area is very large,” he added. “We can not monitor everything – we only know what is happening directly around the power plant where our workers are,” Fomichev said.
