If climate is not made a priority, we will face disaster

States must make climate change a priority, otherwise the world will face disaster, said the head of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres.

He made these statements to the British broadcaster BBC, before holding a major climate conference, COP27, which is being held in Egypt this year.

“There has been a tendency to ignore climate-related issues,” he said.

“If we fail to reverse this trend, then we are lost.”

The conference, known as COP27, will bring countries together to discuss how to combat climate change.
