The US unemployment rate remains unchanged.

In the United States of America during the month of June, about 372 thousand people were employed, which was above market estimates, while the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.6 percent.

As the Department of Labor announces, for the fourth month in a row, unemployment remained at the same levels, which was in line with market estimates.

Economists had expected an increase of 268 thousand employees. The number of unemployed in the US for this month was 5.9 million.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 22 million people in the world’s largest economy lost their jobs in March and April 2020.

After annual inflation rose to 8.6 percent in May, the highest in 40 years, the US Federal Reserve on June 15 raised the key interest rate by 75 basis points, the biggest increase in 28 years.
