Zybio company fired 10 thousand workers, causing unrest

China

The unrest in China is continuing as many companies are beginning to have financial difficulties as infections with the COVID-19 virus are showing extreme growth.

Tens of thousands of Chinese workers from the city of Chongqing have reportedly clashed with the police after Zybio fired them without paying them their last salary.

“It is reported that Chinese workers from the city of Chongqing have confronted the police because their employer, Zybio, has fired 10,000 workers without paying them their last month’s salary,” it is reported on social media.

European Union government officials recommended that passengers traveling from China test negative for the coronavirus.

The recommendation comes as Beijing prepares to ease travel restrictions even as the country grapples with a new wave of COVID-19 infections.

Cases of the Coronavirus were first reported in late 2019 in China.
