Germany will allocate 200 million euros in aid to Afghanistan.

Germany will provide an additional 200 million euros ($ 223 million) in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced today during an online conference.

“The humanitarian crisis that the Afghan population is experiencing is one of the worst in the world” Baerbock said.

At the same time, Baerbock called on the ruling Islamic militants in Afghanistan, the Taliban, to provide access to humanitarian aid workers and ensure their safety.

Foreign Minister Baerbock said it was unacceptable that the UN World Food Program (WFP) was not currently able to supply food to the provinces of Kabul, Kandahar and Ghor.
