CDU Chief Wüst Says Kein Black Red Alliance No Alternative Government

North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister-President, Hendrik Wüst (CDU), indicated that he anticipates the continuation of the coalition government, despite the differing views among its members. Speaking to RTL and ntv on Monday, he argued that there is no alternative to the current ruling coalition within the democratic spectrum of the German Bundestag, urging everyone to “band together”.

Addressing a gloomy prediction by his party colleague, Christian von Stetten-who suggested the government would “certainly” not survive four years-Wüst refuted the assessment. According to Wüst, all involved parties understand their corresponding responsibilities. He concluded with a note of confidence, stating, “Yes, they are different parties, but I believe it will last”.

Regarding the government’s operational work, Wüst highlighted measurable progress in several areas. He pointed out significant advances concerning energy and noted that the issue of migration is no longer a prominent topic in public debate. Pushing projects are underway, and Wüst concluded that, “if progress is made, I believe the mood will improve as well”.
