After a military strike carried out by Israel and the United States, Iran launched rockets and drones toward Israel. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard described the attack as a response to the “aggression of the hostile and criminal foe”. In Israel, the air‑defense system was activated, the Israeli military said.
At the same time, explosions were reported in Tehran’s city centre, reportedly sparking panic among residents and prompting many to attempt to leave the capital. Similar reports came from the outskirts of Isfahan, where a nuclear facility-previously targeted in last year’s attacks-is located.
Earlier, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz had stated that Israel had launched a “pre‑emptive strike” to eliminate threats from Tehran. U.S. President Donald Trump announced a massive military operation against Iran and reiterated that the country would never possess a nuclear weapon.
