Judge Nominee Addresses Plagiarism Claims Wednesday

Following allegations of plagiarism, Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf, nominated by the SPD party for a position as a constitutional judge, has announced she will release a statement on Wednesday. However, this statement will be delivered through her legal representation.

Brosius-Gersdorf addressed the accusations during an interview on ZDF’s Markus Lanz program Tuesday evening. She revealed that upon learning of the allegations, which occurred on the morning of the originally scheduled parliamentary vote last Friday, she immediately sought legal counsel specializing in such matters.

“As soon as these accusations surfaced, we immediately initiated contact with a law firm specializing in these types of claims” Brosius-Gersdorf stated. She added that the allegations had been “disruptive” and had taken her “off course.

The appointed law firm has reportedly been examining the claims for several days and will provide a formal statement on Wednesday. Brosius-Gersdorf declined to comment further on the matter at this time.

Earlier in the interview, ZDF moderator Markus Lanz presented a text passage which appears in both Brosius-Gersdorf’s academic work and a publication authored by her husband, posing the question of potential academic duplication.
