Statista to Offer AI Developers Statistics, Infographics and Market Reports
In a move to become the leading data provider for artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystems worldwide, Statista is in talks with over 20 companies, its CEO Marc Berg revealed in an interview with the German financial daily Handelsblatt. By the end of the year, the company aims to secure at least five more partnerships, Berg said.
One of the first partners is Microsoft, which plans to integrate Statista’s data into its digital assistant, Microsoft 365 Copilot, starting this fall. Microsoft will access Statista’s database through an interface, with a yet-to-be-determined fee expected to be paid, according to the company.
Statista’s goal is to develop its offering to ensure quality control for large language models, Berg explained. The company sees a market gap in this area, as large language models, such as those used in chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot, can process text at a human-like level but often produce errors, known as hallucinations in the industry.
