Multiple fatalities have been reported due to the fires in and around Los Angeles. As of Thursday evening (local time), the local authorities reported ten death reports in connection with the fires.
Currently, there are five devastating fires in the region: the Palisades Fire, the Hurst Fire, the Lidia Fire, the Eaton Fire, and the Sunset Fire in the Hollywood Hills. In contrast, the Woodley Fire has been largely contained.
However, the death toll is likely to rise further. Such destructive wildfires are unusual in California in January. The main season is actually between June and December.
