Google introduced Android 13 for low-end phones

After Android 13 appeared in August, Google has now introduced a version of this operating system developed specifically for low-end, more affordable mobile phones and called it Android 13 (Go edition).

The Go edition concept is now five years old, and currently more than 250 million monthly active devices with weaker processors, limited RAM and storage use some form of Android Go.

Android 13 (Go edition) is focused on reliability, usability and customization. Google Play system updates will be available for Go devices starting with this release, allowing phones to receive important software updates without a major Android upgrade.

Google Discover debuts on Go edition devices and brings a lot of skins, and there’s also the Material You design language, which hasn’t graced Go devices before.

This gives users the option of theming the entire color scheme of the mobile phone based on the background, however, the process is not automatic because once the background is set, one of the four color schemes for the system must be selected.

The Go also received some key Android 13 features like notification permissions and app language preferences. Devices with Android 13 (Go edition) are expected in 2023.
