A taxi app was hacked in Moscow on Thursday (September 1), sending hundreds of vehicles to the same address in the center of the Russian capital, specifically to the ‘Ukraine Hotel’.

Foreign media reports that about 100 yellow cars working for Yandex Taxi blocked the lanes, lining up on the road near the “Ukraine” hotel, blocking the lanes. As a result, a traffic chaos has been caused.

“Drivers spent about 40 minutes in traffic due to fake orders,” said a spokesperson for Yandex Taxi.

On social media, bystanders said the attack caused two-hour traffic jams across Moscow.

Hotel Ukraina was built by Soviet dictator Josef Stalin in the 1950s and is one of seven Gothic towers around central Moscow.
