Russians began leaving the country en masse after Vladimir Putin ordered mobilization on Tuesday morning. Airline tickets to visa-free destinations are selling out fast.

Meanwhile, the remaining ones are available only on Friday, with prices of one thousand euros and above.

The mass Russian exodus is also reported on FlightRadar, a popular flight-tracking website.

They released a short video showing air traffic from Moscow and St Petersburg taken this morning.

The video shows that traffic has increased and most flights have ended in Turkey.

Meanwhile, Russian airlines have reportedly banned the sale of tickets to Russian men aged 18 to 65 unless they can provide proof of approval to travel from the Ministry of Defence.

By noon Moscow time, direct flights from Moscow to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan had also stopped appearing on the website.
