Footage of the Mexican drug lord’s arrest is released.

One of the founders of the Guadalajara drug cartel, Rafael Caro-Quintero (69), was arrested in the Mexican city of Guachochi.

Rafael Caro-Quintero (69) goes by the nickname Narco de Narcos, Mexican media reported tonight.

Nine years after being released from prison, Caro-Quintero was arrested again.

Two arrest warrants were issued for the known drug lord – one by the Attorney General of Mexico and one by the United States of America.

The US Department of Justice offered a $20 million reward for information leading to his arrest, the largest reward offered to a single fugitive.

Until a few hours ago, the FBI considered him one of the ten most wanted people in the world.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation says Caro-Quintero is currently a member of the Sinaloa cartel, where he was born.

Experts point out that this is the most important arrest in the six-year term of the Mexican president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, even more important than the arrest of the drug lord Jose Antonio Hepez Ortiz, the leader of the powerful Santa Rosa de Lima cartel, who was captured in October 2021.

Caro-Quintero is wanted for alleged involvement in the kidnapping, torture and murder of DEA Special Agent Enrique Kiki Camarena.

Because of this, he was arrested in Costa Rica the same year and extradited to Mexico, where the court sentenced him to 40 years, but he was released in 2013 after serving 28 years in prison. However, two years later, the court again issued an order for him.

Caro-Quintero founded the Guadalajara Cartel with Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo and Ernesto Fonseca Carilla.
