Ukrainians claim that the Russians used children as a shield.
Ukraine’s chief prosecutor is gathering evidence of how the Russians used children as protection – to protect themselves from attacks by the Ukrainian army as they withdrew from Kiev and other parts of northern Ukraine.
Ukraine has accused Russia of using children as a shield, while trying to regroup for other offensives, Telegrafi reports.
The children were placed in front of tanks in the village of Novyi Bykvi, not far from Chernihiv, about 160 kilometers north of Kiev.
There are still allegations that children have been taken hostage in various parts of Ukraine, in order for them not to receive information about the movements of the occupying army.
“Cases of children being used as shields have been registered in Sumy, Kiev, Chernihiv and Zaporzhzhy,” the ombudsman’s office in Ukraine said.
