Nasser Al-Khelaifi faces up to 28 months in prison.
Problems again for the president of Paris Saint Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, as the Swiss public prosecutor requests a sentence of 28 months in prison.
The reason for this is the role of Al-Khelaifi in the FIFA affair, which includes the multi-million dollar television rights for the World Cup from 2018 to 2030
In addition to his role at the Paris club, the PSG boss also owns the media group BeIN. In this position, Al-Khelaifi is said to have given former FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke “unnecessary benefits” before the television rights were granted.
At least that was the claim of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Bern when the first criminal proceedings against Qatar were opened in 2017.
Al-Khelaifi was acquitted in the fall of 2020, and the federal prosecutor’s office has now filed another criminal complaint with the Federal Criminal Court of Appeals.
The prosecution is seeking a 28-month sentence for the PSG chairman and a 35-month sentence for Valcken.
