Ex-Merz Chief Office Officer Moves to BCG Consulting Giant

Jacob Schrot, who served as the office manager for CDU’s Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz until January, has found a new career opportunity. The 35-year-old is set to join the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a partner starting June 1st, according to the publication “Handelsblatt”.

At BCG, Schrot will be strengthening the practice group focused on the public sector, providing political consulting services to both companies and institutions. When speaking to the newspaper, he expressed his enthusiasm, stating that he looks forward to beginning this new professional chapter, allowing him to act as a translator between the worlds of business and politics.

The BCG firm itself has a strong history in this area, having founded its Global Advantage and Geopolitics practice group in 2016. This unit has seen continuous growth, fueled by global conflicts and crises, and is systematically expanding its membership with new partners and senior advisors.
