According to the Israeli Defense Forces, the Israeli military has launched approximately 100 attacks targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon since Friday. These escalating strikes occurred despite the ongoing ceasefire, as Israeli forces reported that Hezbollah utilized hostile aircraft, mortar shells, and explosive drones near Israeli soldiers located in Southern Lebanon.
Following these violations, the IDF responded by striking observation posts, terrorist infrastructure, and an weapons depot on Saturday. The operation also included hitting targets in the city of Tyre in Southern Lebanon on Friday.
Adding to the geopolitical context, the US State Department announced on Friday that the mediated ceasefire had been extended for another 45 days. However, it was noted that Hezbollah, which is not a part of the Lebanese government, does not directly participate in these negotiations. Despite the diplomatic efforts, Hezbollah continues to maintain a high level of hostility, regularly publishing videos showing attacks directed at Israeli soldiers and military vehicles.
