SPD Executive Announces More Citizen Relief After Council Failure

Following the failure of the relief premium in the Federal Council, SPD Deputy Parliamentary Group Leader Dirk Wiese announced plans for further financial relief measures for citizens. Speaking to the “Rheinische Post”, Wiese confirmed that the governing black-and-red coalition will jointly discuss these additional steps. He indicated that the Coalition Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday would provide a good opportunity to move the discussions forward. Furthermore, Wiese reminded the public that the SPD and the CDU/CSU had already reached an agreement on a general tax reform. The SPD politician emphasized that the income tax reform is a key component of this package, scheduled to act as agreed-upon relief beginning on January 1st.
