Berlin in Talk with Israel Over Energy Partnership Kerosene and Gas Deliveries

According to a spokesperson for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs in Berlin, Israel has offered to supply Germany with both kerosene and natural gas as part of an “energy partnership”. The spokesperson confirmed that the ministry is currently engaged in “constructive talks” regarding energy deliveries with several countries, including Israel. However, the ministry stated that specific details and volumes cannot be provided, as these aspects are negotiated directly between the respective companies.

While there are currently no physical shortages of kerosene in Germany, the spokesperson noted that the government is observing the situation “very attentively” and maintaining constant dialogue with the industry. The Federal Government continues efforts to diversify the sources for both gas and oil products, a process that involves companies entering into contracts independently, with the Ministry providing support for these endeavors.

Despite the absence of a current kerosene shortfall, Germany is proactively preparing for potential crises, particularly in light of the tense situation in the Gulf. Officials mentioned that while some crude oil products were released from reserves, not all available amounts were taken, and these remaining reserves will be offered in a subsequent round.
