The salary bill of Barcelona’s footballers continues to be very high despite Gerard Pique’s announced retirement.
After more than a decade at the top of the game, the Barcelona and Spain legend has decided to hang up his boots.
On Thursday evening, Pique announced the shocking news with a rather touching video posted on his social media channels.
Barcelona’s home game against Almeria in La Liga today (Saturday) will be Pique’s last for the club and will be a highly emotional affair at Camp Nou.
The Spaniard is Barcelona’s third highest paid player on the payroll which is quite surprising to see.
