Dobrindt Confirms No Extra Threats As Middle East War Continues Germany Security Unchanged

Bundesminister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) says that the outbreak of war in the Middle East has not altered the security situation in Germany at present.

Speaking in Berlin on Wednesday, he explained that security services are closely monitoring the situation. “We see no additional threats at the moment” he said. This assessment is a current analysis that could change with time. “Nevertheless, we still anticipate more abstract dangers. There are no concrete threat scenarios that we need to define or that are clearly visible”.

Dobrindt added that various areas are being watched intensively, starting with facilities in Germany that could be considered at risk. These include American, Israeli and Jewish institutions. The government also keeps a close eye on public demonstrations. He noted that this is not a new development.
