FC St Pauli won the 23rd matchday of the Bundesliga, taking a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen in the North‑German cellar duel. The game started evenly, but St Pauli managed to convert more chances into goals than the visitors. In the 55th minute, Hauke Wahl put the hosts ahead, taking advantage of a mistake by Bremen’s goalkeeper Mio Backhaus. Werder replied just seven minutes later when Jovan Milosevic equalised. St Pauli then answered quickly.
The winning goal came in the 70th minute. Jackson Irvine delivered a precise through‑pass to Manolis Saliakas, who cut into the box and set up Joel Chima‑Fujita, who shot into the far corner. Bremen pushed hard for another equaliser, but St Pauli’s defence held firm. The match was characterised by intense duels and several yellow cards.
