Hurricane Roslin is expected to hit the Pacific coast of Mexico, bringing with it storm surges and dangerous flooding.
This was announced by the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) and Mexican authorities called on residents of certain areas to take shelter.
Roslin strengthened to a Category 1 hurricane on Friday as it approached the tourist areas of central Mexico.
Forecasters say Roslin will bring heavy rain across southwestern Mexico, mainly in areas such as Colima, Jalisco, Nayarit and Sinaloa.
