For the first time in four months, neither Taylor Swift nor a Christmas‑themed single has taken the top spot in the official German singles chart. The German Top 100 saw Ayliva’s emotional track “Renn” claim number‑one, her fifth chart‑dominating hit after “Sie weiß” (feat. Mero), “Hässlich”, “Lieb mich” and “Wunder” (with Apache 207).
Female artists occupy the entire top five: Taylor Swift is second with “The Fate Of Ophelia”, Zara Larsson is third with “Lush Life”, Raye is fourth with “Where Is My Husband!”, and HUNTR/X is fifth with “Golden”.
A notable low‑tier entry is Bruce Springsteen’s “Streets Of Minneapolis”, which slips onto position 87 – a playful nod to his global hit “Streets Of Philadelphia”. Carnival‑themed songs continue to climb the charts: DJ Ötzi’s “Tirol” reaches number 12, GroßstadtEngel’s “Gute Laune” lands at 24, Druckluft’s “Karnevalsmaus” at 35, Breitner’s “Baby Bell” at 45, and the duo Mätropolis & DJ Aaron’s “Rakete” settles at 61.
In the album rankings, Toten Hosen secure the crown over Böhsen Onkelz. Their 30‑year anniversary collection of the cult album “Opium für’s Volk” tops the list, while Böhsen Onkelz’s 40‑year edition of the “Mexico” EP sits in second place.
The top ten also feature a mix of indie and soundtrack releases: Kaffkiez’s “Wir” claims number 3, Only The Poets’ “And I’d Do It Again” is at six, the soundtrack to season five of “Stranger Things” holds number 4, Ufo361’s “Beware” lands at five, Don Toliver’s “Octane” takes ten, and the dino‑metal group Heavysaurus’s “Metal” sits at nine.
These rankings are compiled by GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Federal Association of the Music Industry (BVMI). The charts cover around 90 % of all sales and are based on data from roughly 2,600 retail outlets and distribution channels.
