Potanin: Do not take us back 100 years.
The richest Russian businessman, Vladimir Potanin, has instructed the Russian authorities not to allow the Russian state to return to the time of the October Revolution 1917.
Potanin, who owns the Norilsk Nickel company (NILSY), made these comments after it became known that there is a possibility that Russia will confiscate the properties of companies that have withdrawn from this country, as a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine..
He called on the authorities to be careful.
“Initially, this would take us back 100 years, to 1917, and the consequences of such a move would jeopardize the distrust of investors from around the world. “It would last for decades”, Potani estimated.
Bloomberg reported that Potanin’s fortune is $ 22.5 billion, despite losing a quarter of his fortune this year due to NILSY’s declining market value.
