A major investigation following a suspected illegal street race in Ludwigsburg has resulted in charges of murder and attempted murder. Prosecutors in Stuttgart announced the indictments on Tuesday.
The incident, which occurred in March 2025, involved a collision between two vehicles, resulting in the deaths of two women, aged 23 and 22. The charges relate to two brothers, aged 32 and 35 and their 25-year-old cousin. Authorities allege the three men participated in an unauthorized race, during which the vehicle driven by the 32-year-old collided with the car carrying the two women. Both women died at the scene.
The 32-year-old suspect faces charges of murder in connection with both deaths. The 35-year-old brother is accused of attempted murder, among other charges. The 25-year-old cousin has been charged with participating in the illegal street race leading up to the fatal collision and with providing assistance to the subsequent unauthorized race, in conjunction with charges of negligent manslaughter relating to the deaths of the two women.
All three suspects remain in custody pending further proceedings. The Stuttgart Regional Court will now decide whether to formally initiate the main trial and to schedule preliminary hearing dates.
