Insurance companies saw particularly strong demand at the opening bell, with Hannover Rück and Münchener Rück recording the most significant gains. Allianz, a key component of the DAX, also performed well, ranking among the top performers.

The Euro strengthened slightly against the US Dollar, trading at $1.1738, or €0.8519 per dollar.

Gold prices also saw an uptick, reaching $3,648 per fine ounce, a rise of 0.4 percent, equivalent to €99.93 per gram.

Conversely, oil prices declined. Brent North Sea crude traded at $65.92 per barrel around 9:00 am Central European Time, a decrease of 45 cents or 0.7 percent from the previous day’s closing price.
