Drivers in Germany are facing increased costs at the gas pump compared to the previous week.
According to a recent analysis of fuel prices by the ADAC, the average price for a liter of Super E10 currently stands at €1.660, representing a 0.5 cent increase from the prior week. Diesel prices have risen more noticeably, with a liter costing €1.582 on average, a rise of 0.9 cents compared to last week.
This shift has narrowed the price difference between gasoline and diesel. A liter of diesel currently averages 7.8 cents less than a liter of Super E10. The ADAC notes that, considering the significant difference in diesel taxation (approximately 20 cents per liter), this difference feels disproportionately small. Based on the two primary factors influencing fuel prices – the Brent oil price and the Euro-to-US-Dollar exchange rate – both fuel types should have seen even lower prices compared to the previous week.
