KPop Hit Golden Still Reigns at Number One

The official German album charts see continued success for Audrey Nuna, Ejae and Rei Ami, whose song “Golden” from the Netflix film “KPop Demon Hunters” maintains its leading position. GfK Entertainment announced the rankings on Friday, also noting the strong debut of Nina Chuba and Makko with “Fucked Up” entering the charts at number three, directly following Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” at number two.

Mono Inc. tops the album chart this week with “Darkness”. Billie Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” experiences a significant climb, jumping from position 15 to number two thanks to a special vinyl release commemorating its one-year anniversary. The “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack follows closely behind at number three.

Re-releases of older albums have also propelled several artists back into the top ten. Niall Horan’s “Heartbreak Weather” (four), Deep Purple’s “Made In Japan” (five) and Unheilig’s “Große Freiheit” (seven) all benefit from renewed interest. Rapper Luciano’s “Banditorinho 2” appears at number six. Completing the top ten are “Schlagerpiloten” with “Echte Liebesbriefe” (eight), Conan Gray with “Wishbone” (nine) and punk band Rise Against with “Ricochet” (ten).

GfK Entertainment compiles the official German charts on behalf of the Federal Music Industry Association, covering 90 percent of all music sales.
