Berlin police have released a preliminary positive assessment of the extended party weekend featuring several major events.
Saturday, in particular, was deemed a “very satisfactory day” according to police spokesperson Martin Stralau. An estimated 100,000 attendees participated in the “Rave The Planet” event, which saw crowds moving along Straße des 17. Juni and surrounding areas, with celebrations largely peaceful. The approximately 33 security measures implemented during the event involved minor incidents, including reported instances of assault and unauthorized vendors selling beverages.
Approximately 60,000 attendees were concurrently enjoying the Lollapalooza festival at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. Police reported “no significant incidents” at this location and similarly, no notable occurrences were reported during the Formula E race at the former Tempelhof Airport site. Both the Lollapalooza Festival and the Formula E race are scheduled to continue on Sunday. A significant police presence was deployed across all three events.
