The defendant had published a post on Facebook, which described the Federal President as a “Nazi pig” and hinted at violence. Specifically, the man had written: “Keep your mouth shut, you Nazi pig, hopefully Hamas will send a bomb in when you’re there”.

The State Security Chamber considered the statement to be a legally relevant offense and imposed a fine of 90 daily rates of 20 euros, as both the defense and the prosecution had requested in their closing arguments. The verdict is not yet final.
