Polls favor Ben Wallace to become Prime Minister.
The question on most people’s minds is who will be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom – and the list of possible candidates is long.
Some new polls from YouGov, which polled more than 700 Conservative Party members, have Defense Secretary Ben Wallace leading the way – with 13 per cent support.
He is followed by Penny Mordaunt (12 per cent), the minister of state for trade policy
However, it is also notable that 12 percent of people voted for “none of the above” to take over the leadership of the British government.
“It’s a very tight race for first and second place at the moment,” Patrick English, associate director of YouGov’s political and social research team.
He adds that when researchers ran run-offs to see which MPs would come out on top when they defeated the top two contenders, Wallace came out on top against everyone else and by “huge margins – as much as 20 per cent”. on Rishi Sunak, on Liz Truss and on Jeremy Hunt”.
Boris Johnson has resigned today which means that there will now be a leadership election to decide who will become the next Conservative leader and Prime Minister.
