Bridget Brink is named the new US Ambassador to Ukraine.
US diplomat Bridget Brink, who is considered a veteran of the field and currently serves as ambassador to Slovakia, will henceforth hold the post of US ambassador to Ukraine.
This post had remained open since 2020, under the administration of US President Donald Trump. The American media report that Joe Biden will nominate Brink today.
The United States has also announced that it will review security conditions in the Ukrainian capital, and reopen the embassy as soon as the situation there has calmed down a bit.
The embassy remains closed in Kiev, where it has temporarily opened offices in Poland. The embassy staff will start the trip to the city of Lviv in western Ukraine.
