Russian forces have reportedly targeted energy infrastructure, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, which said the facilities are used by the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. The ministry’s statement read: “Today, the Russian Armed Forces have carried out a combined strike with precision-guided munitions of long range from the ground, air and sea, as well as with combat drones, hitting facilities of the gas and energy complex that work for the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. The objectives of the attack have been achieved.”
Additionally, Russian forces also targeted enemy airfields, storage and preparation sites for the use of combat drones and other military infrastructure.
Moreover, tactical aircraft, attack drones, rocket troops and artillery were used to attack enemy concentrations of personnel and equipment in 137 areas.
In the previous night, air alarm was triggered in several Ukrainian regions. Local media reported explosions in Poltava, Kharkiv, Cherkasy and the city of Merefa in the Kharkiv region, as well as in the city of Kherson, which is controlled by the Ukrainian army.
Later, Ukraine’s Energy Minister, German Galushchenko, stated that emergency power supplies had been set up across the country. In the Poltava region, nine settlements had lost their gas supply.
In response to the Ukrainian forces’ attacks on civilian infrastructure in Russia, Russian troops regularly target the locations of personnel, equipment and mercenaries, as well as the infrastructure of the enemy, including objects in the energy, defense industry, military administration and communication sectors.
Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitri Peskov, has repeatedly emphasized that the Russian army does not target residential buildings and social facilities.
