US Stock Markets Showed a Mixed Picture on Friday.
At the end of trading in New York, the Dow was calculated at 43,828 points, a decrease of 0.2 percent compared to the previous trading day.
Just a few minutes earlier, the broader S&P 500 was trading at around 6,051 points, at the same level as the previous day, while the Nasdaq 100, which focuses on technology, was calculated at around 21,780 points, a gain of 0.8 percent.
On Friday, the US stock markets once again focused on the theme of artificial intelligence. After presenting its quarterly results, the shares of Broadcom, a semiconductor company, experienced a significant price surge, making it a company worth over a billion dollars. The company’s revenue increased by 51 percent compared to the previous year, particularly due to a fourfold increase in revenue from the artificial intelligence segment.
Meanwhile, the European common currency was stronger: one euro cost around 1.0497 US dollars in the evening, and one US dollar was worth around 0.9527 euros.
The gold price fell significantly, with an ounce selling for 2,648 US dollars in the evening, a decrease of 1.2 percent, which is equivalent to 81.10 euros per gram.
The oil price, on the other hand, rose significantly: a barrel of Brent, a type of North Sea oil, cost around 74.42 US dollars in the evening, a gain of 1.4 percent compared to the end of the previous trading day.
