Space X‘s Super Heavy rocket explodes.
Space X has long been preparing for the first in-orbit flight test of the Starship spacecraft, but this important step may be delayed again.
The Super Heavy Booster designed for Starship has exploded from the point where it was planned to launch – that is from SpaceX located in Boca Chici in Texas, and images of the explosion have been published on social networks.
The $216 million booster caught fire while the company was testing Raptor engines, and the current Super Heavy prototype, Booster 7, reportedly contains 33 second-generation Raptor engines.
The director of the SpaceX company, Elon Musk, has said that the situation is not good and that his team is assessing the damage.
He revealed that the problem was specific to what he calls a spin start engine motion test that SpaceX attempted.
