Over 500 victims due to high temperatures in Spain.
Spain has reported more than 500 deaths in the past ten days.
All this because of the high temperatures that have just hit Western Europe.
“The climate crisis is a reality and climate change is killing,” Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said during a visit to Aragon, a province in the northeast of the country where fires have destroyed tens of thousands of hectares of land.
Extremely high temperatures in the past 10 days, Sanchez said, have killed more than 500 people.
The Prime Minister referred to the estimates of the Institute of Public Health for the increase in mortality.
According to the Spanish Meteorological Institute, this heat wave could be the most intense ever recorded and one of the three longest heat waves.
Otherwise, Great Britain, Italy and France have reported high temperatures as never before.
