Kremlin urges Ukrainian soldiers to surrender.

Russia has urged Ukrainian forces to surrender and not defend the city of Mariupol.

Such an ultimatum comes at a time when attacks are continuing on this city located in southeastern Ukraine, and since the beginning of the occupation has been surrounded by Russian forces.

All Ukrainian armed forces must hand over their weapons by 6 am to 1 pm – at least according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It is estimated that Mariupol and its environs still have 100,000 inhabitants, who are trapped in some Russian-controlled parts of the city – while Ukrainian troops have limited access to those few areas of the city.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last night described the situation in the besieged city – Mariupol as inhumane, stressing that this is still making life difficult for those citizens who are stuck inside.

“Russia is deliberately trying to destroy everyone in Mariupol,” Zelensky said in his latest video.

Mariupol is the first city since the beginning of the Russian occupation in Ukraine is besieged.
