Lutsk and Dnipro attacked for the first time
There have been reports of explosions in cities across Ukraine in recent hours.
Ukrainian television and media are reporting explosions in Lutsk in the northwest, as well as in Dnipro – an inner city on the Dnieper River and a major stronghold in central-eastern Ukraine.
None of these cities has seen direct attacks before.
Air raid sirens had begun ringing in several Ukrainian cities hours before the blasts.
Meanwhile the mayor of Lutsk has confirmed that the explosions took place near the city airport.
In Dnipro, three explosions were reported by Ukrainian media, where one apparently hit a shoe factory.
The other two blasts were reported near a kindergarten and a multi-apartment building.
At least one person has been reported dead in Dnipro so far, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
