Yoon’s Escape: South Korea’s President Slapped with Travel Ban!

After the temporary suspension of martial law in the past week, an exit ban has been imposed on South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. The ban was ordered by the Ministry of Justice on Monday, shortly after the relevant anti-corruption agency submitted a corresponding application.

The background is that Yoon is being investigated for treason and other charges in connection with the temporary suspension of martial law in the past week. The President had announced the suspension of martial law on Tuesday, but later revoked it after intense pressure.

On Saturday evening, a motion for an impeachment procedure in the parliament failed. Yoon, however, remains under pressure.
