Jens Spahn, vice chairman of the CDU, harshly criticizes the Social Democratic Chancellor Party. “The SPD is starting the dirtiest election campaign in the history of the Federal Republic,” he said to the “Tagesspiegel” (Monday edition). “The Social Democrats complain about Donald Trump and use his methods.” He therefore wonders, “how to work with this SPD.”
The reason is the latest statements of the Chancellor, which he made during the SPD’s election kick-off at the weekend. “Olaf Scholz is lying,” said Spahn to the newspaper further. “He implies that we wanted to cut the pension to buy tanks for the Bundeswehr. He wants to create the impression that the Union is at war with the SPD.”
Spahn makes Chancellor Scholz severe accusations, “he caters to Russia’s narrative,” the CDU politician said to the “Tagesspiegel” further. “Putin would vote for Scholz.” Not the FDP, but his “weak leadership” is the main reason for the early end of the coalition, the Union therefore wants to “end Olaf Scholz’s failed chancellorship.
