The Russian offensive in the Bakhmut area has slowed down, analysts at the security and defense research center of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said.
In its latest report on the war in Ukraine, the Institute for War Studies wrote that the Russian military “acknowledged that Ukrainian fighters have managed to slow down the advance of Russian forces around Bakhmut and surrounding settlements.”
A Russian military blogger claims that Ukrainian forces have driven mercenaries from the infamous Russian group, “Wagner” back to the positions they held a few days ago, according to the report.
Ukrainian sources announced earlier on social media that their forces had completely defeated Russian forces from the eastern outskirts of Bakhmut.
ISW estimates that Russian forces made slightly less progress in November and December than in October.
Otherwise, Russia has launched an unjustifiable invasion of the Ukrainian state on February 24, causing thousands of casualties and material damage.
