Ukrainian companies have imported about half a million power generators, but the country needs thousands more, bigger and stronger, to get through the winter.
At least this is what Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal claims, who admitted that the situation in Ukraine is serious.
Since October, Ukraine has faced increasing disruptions due to Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian grid operator Ukrenergo said after the latest Russian airstrikes, repair times would be longer than after previous attacks, and that it would take longer to restore power.
Shmyhal said during the meeting of the Ukrainian government that this country will need even more generators during these winter months.
“Ukrainian small and medium-sized entrepreneurs have already imported 500,000 low-power generators. But to survive the winter, we will need about 17,000 large, industrial generators, he added.
“We hope to cover some of these needs with the help of our partners,” the Ukrainian prime minister said at the end.
